The short version

  • A 1 GB always-on app with Postgres and Redis is about $59/mo on Koyeb. On orkestr it is €15/mo, everything included.
  • Since February 2026, new Koyeb accounts must subscribe to a paid plan (Pro from $29/mo). orkestr still has a free tier.
  • Koyeb has no managed Redis and no built-in cron or PR previews. orkestr has all three.
  • Koyeb wins on GPUs, autoscaling, very large instances and regions outside Europe.

Two EU companies, two different products

Koyeb is a French company and a good platform. Its strengths are the ones you would expect from a serverless provider: per-second billing, autoscaling with scale-to-zero, regions in the US, Europe and Asia, and serverless GPUs all the way up to H200s. In February 2026 it announced an agreement to join Mistral AI.

orkestr is built for the other half: the boring production web app with a database, a cache and a few scheduled jobs. Those pieces are all managed and all included, so you do not assemble them yourself.

What you have to bring yourself on Koyeb

Koyeb gives you managed Postgres, but no managed Redis: you deploy a Redis template as an ordinary service and look after it. There is no built-in cron, so scheduled work runs inside your app or from an outside scheduler. Preview environments per pull request are a GitHub Actions recipe, not a platform feature.

On orkestr Pro, Redis is a managed add-on, crons are a setting, and every pull request gets a preview deploy automatically. All of that is in the €15 seat.

Being straight about one gap: orkestr does not have an always-on background worker service today. Queue consumers run inside your web process, or as scheduled and one-off jobs. If your app needs a separate long-running worker, factor that in.

What a small production app costs

One web app with ~1 GB of RAM, always on. A small managed Postgres, a small managed Redis, a few scheduled jobs, ~100 GB of egress a month, one developer.

orkestr

  • Pro seat (compute, crons, 1 TB bandwidth)€15

Koyeb

  • Pro plan (includes $10 of compute)$29
  • Web app, eco-small 0.5 vCPU / 1 GB$5.36
  • Redis template on eco-nano (256 MB)$1.61
  • Included compute credit-$6.97
  • Postgres small, always active (1 GB)$29.76
  • Postgres storage, 1 GB$0.50
  • 100 GB egress$0
Total / month~$59

Koyeb in USD, orkestr in EUR, both excl. VAT. We assume Koyeb's $10 included compute covers the app and Redis instances but not the database. Scheduled jobs are left at $0 because Koyeb has no cron product. With the 1 vCPU small instance instead of eco-small the total is about $60. Koyeb's pricing FAQ and pricing page state different bandwidth allowances; 100 GB is free under both.

When Koyeb is the better pick

We'd rather you pick the right tool than churn in a month. Stay on Koyeb if:

  • You need GPUs. Koyeb offers serverless GPUs up to 8x H200, orkestr offers none.
  • You want autoscaling across many instances, or instances bigger than 1 GB of RAM.
  • You need regions outside Europe (US, Singapore, Tokyo).
  • Your team is large: Koyeb Pro includes 10 users for one $29 fee, while orkestr Pro is priced per seat.

Common questions

Is Koyeb not an EU company too?
Yes, Koyeb is French. The difference here is the product, not the passport: orkestr includes managed Redis, crons and PR previews in a flat seat price, and still has a free tier.
Can I run my Koyeb Dockerfile on orkestr?
Yes. If your repo has a Dockerfile we build it as-is. Without one, we detect the framework (Node, Python, Go, Ruby, Java and more) and generate one.
What replaces Koyeb worker services?
Be aware of this one: orkestr has no always-on worker service today. Queue consumers run inside your web process, or as scheduled and one-off jobs.
Does orkestr have GPUs?
No. If your workload needs a GPU, Koyeb is the better fit.
